How to Live More Positively

These days we hear a lot about Cosmic Ordering, The Secret, the Law of Attraction and the fact that like attracts like. If this were true then surely it would benefit all of us to learn how to live our lives a little more positively. And even if it’s not true ? what have we got to lose by becoming at least a little more positive in our daily lives? Surely our lives would be more pleasurable if we lived this way. So, with this in mind, here are a few handy ‘tips and hits’ to help you to live your life in a more upbeat and optimistic way. Wherever you can, try and spread a little happiness. A kind word, or thought or deed goes a long way. Can you think of a time when you felt good or something good happened to you because of something someone else said or did? If you want to be happy, try making someone else happy. If you want to be more abundant, share what you do have with someone else. Feeling gratitude is one of the most important things you can do to help you to live more positively. Even in the worst of circumstances, there is always something to be grateful for. I’ve found it helps to keep a ‘Gratitude’ journal. This is simply a list of things I’m grateful for. There are so many things I have to be thankful for and the very act of writing the list reminds me of them and puts me in a more positive frame of mind. If you try it, you may find it hard to think of anything at first, but as you go on and keep at it, you’ll soon find that it’s difficult to stop! Try and keep writing in it too, as you go along. See if you can’t think of five new things to add to it each day. Affirmations are a very powerful way to help you stay positive too. Use them as often as you can. Do make sure that they’re all positive, present tense and personal though, and phrase them to say what it is you do want, not what you want to be rid of. Write them down or say them to yourself over and over, in your mind or out loud until they become a part of you. And if you’re constantly on the lookout for evidence that your affirmations are working you’ll soon see a difference. Learn to relax more. A few minutes relaxation each day will help you to keep on top of things. A good way to relax yourself is to find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed, sit or lie comfortably and just focus on your breathing for a while. To stop your mind from wandering, try saying ‘I am,’ on the in breath and ‘at peace’ on the out breath. Breathing in ? ‘I am’. Breathing out ? ‘at peace’. I use this technique with my meditation groups and it really helps to stop the mind from chattering and spoiling your relaxation. You only need to do this for about ten minutes a day, and you will gain many benefits, not least that you’ll begin to look forward to it, and you’ll feel more in control of yourself and your life. Watch your words! It’s surprising how many negative statements we can make in a day. And the things we say can soon become reality for us if we repeat them often enough. One exercise I find helpful is to watch what you say on the phone. Sometimes, when there’s someone at the other end moaning about something, we often just tend to agree without even realising that we’re doing it. Or maybe you have a friend who’s a bit of a moaner and you just say ‘Yes, yes’ to save yourself the bother of thinking up a reply. If you catch yourself doing this, try and see if there’s another way to put things in a more positive light. Think about what you really want to achieve in life. If your life were perfect in every way, how would it be? Write a page or two describing your ideal life as if it already existed. That way at least you know what you’re aiming for and you can work towards that. Most positive people have a goal to work towards and something to look forward to once their goal has been achieved. Mental imagery can also work well to help us be more positive. Create a picture in your mind of you looking your best and living your ideal life. And make it a habit to think about it often, especially at the beginning and end of each day. Okay, so you’re maybe not living your ideal life right now, but it’s something to aspire to isn’t it?Allow yourself to spend some time each day reading uplifting books, watching uplifting films or plays. They don’t necessarily have to be ‘motivational’ ones. Just ones that you enjoy and feel good reading or watching. Try not to read newspapers, which carry bad news, or watch the TV news. This will only serve to bring you down and ‘prove’ that the world is in a bad way. If something really important does happen, you’ll get to hear about it anyway. Try and make a game out of finding the positive in things. “Of course it’s raining, but never mind, the garden’s getting watered. ” Okay, so it’s a bit of a ‘Pollyanna’ attitude, but why not? It’ll make you feel better and, after all, that’s what it’s all about. And above all else, do treat yourself well. Allow yourself a little time for relaxation each day, drink lots of water and give yourself the best and freshest foods you can find. You’ll feel much healthier as a result. And allow yourself the occasional treat too. A small bar of chocolate or cream cake won’t do you any harm (unless of course, you’re allergic to them. ) Even then, there must be some little thing you can have that you will enjoy. And make time to do the things you enjoy too. You (and your work) will benefit much more from doing this. Treat yourself as if you were your own best friend. After all, you deserve it. Remember, you cannot give, unless you give to yourself first. Allow yourself to have the good things in life and then spread them around. And when people ask what you’re taking, simply tell them ‘a good dose of positivity’!

Live Event Video Streaming – a Hot Trend

This first concert festival to really popularize the live streaming of full live sets was the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, Ca. This annual April concert event features dozens of bands and while the live streaming started with just a few smaller bands being featured the festival has recently started to webcast full sets by headliners like Morrissey, The Killers and The Cure. Because the economy has caused many people to skip the $200-plus festival, the webcasting is a great way for fans to see their favorite bands without spending any of their much needed cash. One of the coolest festivals to recently embrace the trend of live event video streaming is the Chicago based Pitchfork Festival. This recent 2009 festival introduced full live coverage through their new Pitchfork. tv feature. Unlike in previous years, the video was clean and crisp and didn?t suffer from any loading problems before or during the streaming. The Flaming Lips, The National and more were not only featured live during the performance but is archived for viewing after festival. The Bonnaroo Festival, which takes place on a typically rainy weekend in June on a piece of Tennessee farmland, features a large list of a-list artists. Typically leaning towards ?jam-bands? as well as the newest alternative talent, Bonnaroo was one of the first festivals to fully embrace live event video streaming. While big bands were at first fairly gun-shy about allowing festivals to broadcast their sets free over the web, this year?s web stream featured such huge artists as Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band as well as a reunited Phish webcasting their performances. Furthermore, Bonnaroo was the first festival to sign a contract to broadcast a few select performances to music television station FUSE for a broadcast later in the month. Lollapalooza, the grand daddy of summer touring festivals and now a yearly occurrence in Chicago, featured brand new live streaming technology during this year?s festival which led to some of the clearest, fasting streaming ever for an event of its type. The festival also pulled out the big guns showcasing several of their headlining on their webcast. It will be interesting to see where this ever improving technology will go for future live festivals. With more festivals embracing live webcasting (festivals are doing record business even with the free webcasting) fans are now getting opportunities to see their favorite bands from the comfort of their own computer anywhere in the world.

Kimberly Green and her husband utilize live event video streaming whenever they can to keep in touch with friends and family.

Setting Up a Pay Per View With Live Event Video Streaming

The internet has opened up vast new worlds for local unsigned bands that previously were reserved to the very fortunate, sometimes less talented bands that had the great fortune to be seen by a record executive an signed to a distribution and touring contract. With the popularity of the Internet many of those things have changed. Advancements in home recording have allowed unsigned bands the ability to put out professional quality recording that used to be reserved for those lucky few. Websites have allowed bands the ability to grow massive online fan bases that rival some of the biggest bands in the world. MySpace music and websites like Soundclick have really been advocates for local talent but they have all failed at one thing. Driving revenue into local concert venues. The one big plus for online bands is the massive fan base but the one big drawback to that is the fact that those fans are usually not local to the band or their touring circuit. So, this results in moderate CD sales but ends up in lack luster turn out on show night. So how do you draw your Internet fans to your show? Asking them to drive a thousand miles to see if you is one option but in all seriousness, it will rarely happen. Most fans travel less than 75 miles to see their favorite bands let alone a band they like but has no really record label backing. The best way to grab the attention of those Internet fans is to set up an online pay per view via live event video streaming . It?s really the wave of the future for pay per view events and it?s relatively cost efficient. Best of all it?s the best way to reach every possible fan that you can reach. It works easy enough. Just contact a provider and set up a time and date. They will almost always provide you with a crew equipped to handle your concert. You can go with a package that meets your needs. From one cameraman to several you?ll be able to give your fans what you want and what you can afford. You will be provided an access website so your fans can log on, make their payment and then view your show in the comfort of their computer rooms. It?s a win, win situation for your fans and for the band. It will allow them to view your concerts thus driving your internet revenue You?ll also receive payment for each pay per view buy so if your marketing is good enough, you?ll be able to cover the cost of the show and if you are really good, you?ll make a little cash. This obviously beats pay-to-pay environments you are likely to encounter in local venues. Reaching your fan base has become easier with the Internet but driving that fan base to your show will prove to be a challenge for a long time to come. Maximizing your ability to get those fans exposure to your live performances is a key to your bands future success in the music business. Take advantage of programs like live event video streaming and you?ll have a leg up on other local talent!

Education via Live Satellite Webcasts

Streaming media is basically technology that enables you to listen to music and view video in real-time over the Internet without lengthy downloads. There are many things to consider when participating in or offering an interactive course live via satellite using streaming media webcasts. Here are the main concerns: The students should have access to a classroom setting that has the proper resources to support participation in live streaming media broadcasts and distance learning in general. Communication between the students, instructor and support staff is extremely important as well. Contact information for technical support, including the broadcasting site?s technical support group, and the technical support for the remote sites, should be readily available to students as well as instructors. It cannot be stressed enough that technical support is absolutely necessary on both ends of the spectrum for live satellite webcasts to be successful. Should there be an issue with the webcast, a means to fix the issue should be readily available. Once the correct setting, for receiving the live satellite webcasts as well as the broadcasting site itself is ready, there are a few more things to consider. It is imperative that archives of the streaming media broadcasts; copies of the presentation, lecture notes, and worksheets should be available and accessible. Course broadcasts should be accessible to those people with disabilities. For example, a person who is hearing impaired would have difficulties participating in the course if the type of course delivery relied heavily on audio materials. Schools are not the only groups who choose to use live satellite webcasts for educational purposes. More and more hospitals and health education centers are also using live satellite webcasts to reach the general public. Often times parents and health officials are invited to watch a webcast regarding the latest in research and technology regarding a particular health issue. In some cases, those who participate in viewing a webcast will receive continuing education credits. The advancement of technology has made it easier for many people to either state their cause to a large audience, educate those who want to learn as well as allow those who are physically unable to leave their home a way to participate. If you take all of the above into consideration and prepare everything according to what needs to be done, live streaming media webcasts can be effective and viable alternatives for participating in or delivering many different types of courses.
